ABOUT US
A Place For Fun Learning
Founded in the first year of Reedy High School and still going strong, the Mu Alpha Theta club presents opportunities for students to engage in the world of math outside of their normal classrooms. We encourage students to widen their knowledge of math and to spread it to others as well!
-
We understand that mathematics, as it is taught in a traditional setting, can often be uninviting or boring to many students, So to create a new outside-the-classroom experience, we focus on indulging in fun, recreational activities that stimulate students to engage with math in a deeper way.
-
We also understand that there is immense beauty in math that needs to be appreciated. We also provide interesting, thought-provoking problems to members that wish to hone their skills and perhaps glean some new insights from the wonders of mathematics.
-
This club is different from, say, the Math UIL team, in that it is not just for the math elitists but also for the entire student populace as we aim to promote a general interest in the subject.
-
In addition, we provide members with the opportunity to engage with other students that may need mathematical assistance. We do this by having our members serve the math community in the school through tutorial hours where members assist teachers in helping their students understand math concepts. These volunteer hours can also count for other clubs!
All in all, the Reedy Mu Alpha Theta club is the perfect place for students to share their passion for math and to develop their mastery on the subject.
